Butthole Surfers is the debut studio EP by American rock band Butthole Surfers, released in July 1983. It is also known as Brown Reason to Live and Pee Pee the Sailor (see "Title controversy"). All songs were written and produced by Butthole Surfers. The album was originally released on Alternative Tentacles.
Brown Reason to Live [EP] Review by Steve Huey. The Buttholes' punks-on-acid debut mini-LP owes as much to Captain Beefheart and rockabilly as it does to hardcore punk and thrash, setting Gibby Haynes ' processed vocals against a backdrop of skewed, sludgy noise-riffing.

Released on Alternative Tentacles in July 1983, the resulting EP, Butthole Surfers (also known as Brown Reason to Live and Pee Pee the Sailor ), offered songs with provocatively absurd titles like "The Shah Sleeps in Lee Harvey's Grave" and "Bar-B-Q Pope", alternately sung by Haynes and Leary.
