The celebrated violinist Yehudi Menuhin founded his school in Surrey in 1963 to provide a place for musically gifted children from around the world to develop their talents to the highest level within a nurturing and stimulating academic environment, regardless of their economic background.

The Yehudi Menuhin School is a specialist music school in Stoke d'Abernon, Surrey, England, founded in 1963 by violinist and conductor Yehudi Menuhin. The current director of music is the British classical pianist Ashley Wass.
Applications are welcome from any candidate who is no younger than 8 and no older than 16 in the academic year (September to August) before proposed entry to the School. Although most pupils join the School in September, it may possible to enter at Christmas or Easter if a place is available.
