Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) is a not-for-profit national youth theatre company located in Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia. It was founded in 1963 by Eleanor Witcombe.
Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) has created the ATYP On Demand platform to remove geographic and economic barriers that students and teachers across Australia face when wanting to engage with performing arts.
Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP) is the national youth theatre company of Australia. We exist to connect young people with the professional theatre industry locally, regionally and nationally. It’s the principle on which the company was founded in 1963. It’s what drives us today.
We seek out the best new work from around the world and commission and develop new productions that speak specifically to young Australians. The ATYP On Demand platform gives young people and educators around Australia the opportunity to be inspired by the extraordinary talent of young artists.
