19. Juni 2014 · In 1969, Jackson and Love struck out on their own, forming The Memphis Horns as a floating horn section for anyone who needed “that fat Memphis sound” which was, in large part, created by the duo. “That’s what designates Stax Records, is the horn sound,” Wayne laments.
16. Jan. 2018 · The Memphis Horns were an American brass/woodwinds ensemble that originally served as a house act at Stax Records. As an autonomous unit, the band debuted with an album on Cotillion in 1970, followed by the 1972 album Horns for Everything on Million Records Inc.
