The Solitude of Prime Numbers (2011) is the soundtrack for the film of the same name by Saverio Costanzo composed by Mike Patton. It contains all the music used in the film, and more that was rejected by the director.
The soundtrack was composed by Mike Patton and released in 2011. The title is explained by arguing that protagonists Mattia and Alice are like twin primes : both lonely, close to each other but separated by an even number .

Mit seinem neuesten Album verbindet Mike Patton zwei seiner Steckenpferde: Italien und Filmmusik. Erst 2010 vertonte der italienisch sprechende Patton mit “Mondo Cane” Dolce-Vita-Schlager der 50er und 60er.
Die Musik ist bombastisch, ja sie verströmt für Augenblicke sogar den Odem des Historischen. Dennoch bleibt diese CD mit ihrer spinnerten Track-Anordnung nur eine Empfehlung für unverbesserliche Patton-Fans, die dem Meister der großen Gesten bis in die allerletzten Winkel seiner musikalischen Wunderkammer folgen mögen. Feb. 2012 · This soundtrack to the film based on the novel of the same name (about two people whose parallel lives represent the fate of primes, divisible only by themselves, condemned, as it were, never to multiply), manages the mathematical feat of being true to the classics of the genre (Bernard Herrmann, et al) and to itself.
Insgesamt ist „The Solitude Of Prime Numbers“ eine recht schwermütige wie fordernde Angelegenheit, zeigt aber, dass Patton ein nach wie vor ungemein innovativer, wandlungsfähiger Musiker ist, der immer für eine Überraschung gut ist.
