The Boys of the Lough is a Scottish-Irish Celtic music band active since the 1970s. Early years. Their first album, called Boys of the Lough (1972) consisted of Aly Bain ( fiddle ), [1] Cathal McConnell ( flute ), Dick Gaughan (vocals and guitar) and Robin Morton ( bodhran and vocals). [2]
This album was recorded live in a coffeehouse in late 1974. It includes a wide variety of tracks, from Shetland pieces and Irish jigs to a couple of music-hall songs. Great music, great fun.
