Susquehanna University is a Lutheran liberal arts institution in central Pennsylvania. Founded as the Missionary Institute of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1858, the university has been coeducational since 1872, the year when it and the institution’s former sister school, Susquehanna Female College, merged.
