Paintings in My Mind is the second full-length studio release (third, if the Republic of Idols EP is counted) by American singer-songwriter Tommy Page. Released by Sire Records and Warner Bros. Records in 1990, it features 10 tracks, all of which Page either wrote by himself or co-wrote.
The song was co-written by Page along with Jordan Knight and Danny Wood of the pop boy band New Kids on the Block. While on tour with the New Kids in 1989, Page was playing piano at a hotel one night when Knight approached him, and the two played piano together for a period of time.

Page was born in 1970 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. He grew up in nearby West Caldwell. He graduated from James Caldwell High School in 1985. Page took a leave of absence from New York University's Stern School of Business when his music career began to take off. He returned to finish his remaining two years and graduated in 1997.[citation needed]
In 1985, Tommy and his brother, Bill Page, formed a band called Broken Promises in New Jersey. They were signed to Broccoli Rabe Records and released a self-titled four-track EP. Page died on March 4, 2017, of an apparent suicideat the age of 46. He is survived by his husband Charlie and their three children. Tommy Page was buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, Essex County, New Jersey, USA
