Carla Olson began her recording career in 1979 in Los Angeles having moved from her hometown of Austin, TX with Kathy Valentine. Together they started the Textones and released an EP in the UK and a single in the US.
It was there, in 1977, that she formed the punk outfit the Violators with future Go-Go's guitarist Kathy Valentine. After a year, Olson and Valentine moved to Los Angeles, where they formed the seminal roots rock band the Textones.
