Acadie is the debut studio album by record producer and singer-songwriter Daniel Lanois, originally released in 1989 by Opal Records and Warner Bros. Records. It was largely written and recorded in the city of New Orleans. Lanois sings on it in both French and English, sometimes on the same track.

Daniel Lanois is well known for his collaborations with Brian Eno ("Apollo...", "On Land"). This is a strange and heteronegeous album. Some cajun music, some Ambient with or without spoken words... 'White Mustang II' could be in "Apollo..." and 'Ice' is a synth-pop ballad. This version of 'Amazing Grace' is the last element in the melting pot.

The story was informed by a movie about a guy who loves his girlfriend so much he kills her by the riverside.
