Vanessa-Mae made her professional debut when she was ten at a music festival in Germany. At age thirteen, Vanessa-Mae became the youngest soloist to record both the Beethoven and Tchaikovsky violin concertos, according to Guinness World Records. Her first pop-style album, The Violin Player, was released in 1995.
In Deutschland erlangte sie erste Bekanntheit durch ihr 1995 erschienenes Album The Violin Player, worauf unter anderen das Stück Toccata und Fuge d-Moll BWV 565 enthalten ist. Am 30. Juni 1997 war sie die einzige ausländische Künstlerin, die bei der Vereinigungszeremonie von Hongkong und der Volksrepublik China auftreten durfte.

Vanessa Mae has an original arrangement of the Devil's Trill Sonata that is absolutely wonderful! The Vivaldi pieces are good, although not the very best I've heard. However, the original version of the Devil's Trill is worth the price of the CD.
