Sandy Denny, eigentlich Alexandra Elene MacLean Denny war eine britische Sängerin und Songschreiberin. Sie war mehrmals Mitglied von Fairport Convention, Gründungsmitglied der Gruppe Fotheringay und sang bei den Strawbs sowie auf dem vierten Album von Led Zeppelin.
Sandy Denny and the Strawbs is a compilation album of songs by Sandy Denny and Strawbs. The album is a reworking of tapes recorded by the band in Copenhagen in July 1967. Tracks from those recordings were first released on the Pickwick budget label in 1973 under the name All Our Own Work.

She has been described as "the pre-eminent British folk rock singer". [1] After briefly working with the Strawbs, Denny joined Fairport Convention in 1968, remaining with them until 1969. She formed the short-lived band Fotheringay in 1970, before focusing on a solo career.

She recorded one album with them in Denmark which belatedly came out in 1973 as Sandy Denny and the Strawbs All Our Own Work. The album includes an early solo version of her best-known composition, ‘Who Knows Where the Time Fairport Convention 1968 Richard Bennett-ZeffGoes’.
