John George Trump (August 21, 1907 – February 21, 1985) was an American electrical engineer, inventor and physicist. A professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 1936 to 1973, he was a recipient of the National Medal of Science and a member of the National Academy of Engineering .

15. Feb. 2019 · Biography. A native New Yorker, John G. Trump earned his BA in engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1929, after which he crossed the East River to earn a PhD at Columbia University.
John G. Trump was a pioneer in high voltage engineering and ionizing radiation applications. He worked at MIT, the MIT Radiation Lab, and the High Voltage Engineering Company, and received the National Medal of Science in 1983.
