  3. The New York University College of Arts & Science (CAS) is the primary liberal arts college of New York University (NYU). The school is located near Gould Plaza next to the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences and the Stern School of Business, adjoining Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village.

  4. Arts & Science is the founding school and academic heart of New York University. It is NYU’s largest academic unit, comprising three schools—the College of Arts & Science, the Graduate School of Arts & Science, and Liberal Studies—and dozens of departments, research centers, institutes, and language and cultural houses.

  5. In addition to the majors listed below, the College of Arts and Science hosts over 60 minors. CAS students also have access to over 40 minors across NYU's other undergraduate schools. CAS students interested in a cross-school minor should review our cross-school minor policies and FAQ page.

  6. GSAS works with faculty to recruit the most promising students of diverse backgrounds, to develop and manage high-quality academic programs, and to create conditions in which graduate students can gain expertise and conduct original research in their fields.
