A Grand Trunk Western Railroad bridge (located at 42°59'56.2"N 83°41'35.6"W) in Grand Funk's hometown of Flint, Michigan, that was re-painted to instead show the band's name, as well as the first names of founding members Mark Farner and Don Brewer, and early 1980s bassist Dennis Bellinger.
Von 1981 bis 1983 reformierte sich Grand Funk Railroad mit Dennis Bellinger (ohne Mel Schacher) und veröffentlichte ein weiteres Album: Grand Funk Lives. Die Kritiker des Rolling Stone urteilten harsch: „‚Grand Funk Lives‘ wird als eines der peinlichsten Comeback-Alben in die Geschichte eingehen“.
Anfang der 80er findet man wieder zusammen, den Bass bedient bis 1983 Dennis Bellinger. Doch schon nach einer Tour geht es bis 1995 aufs Abstellgleis. Als nach einer weiteren Reunion, Gitarrist und Sänger Farmer die Band endgültig verlässt, wird erneut die Bremse gezogen.
2. Juli 2021 · Craig Frost hatte feste Verpflichtungen als Keyboarder bei Bob Seger’s Silver Bullit Band und sagte ebenfalls ab. Mit dem Ersatz Dennis Bellinger wurde “Grand Funk Lives” eingespielt. Die Platte erreichte nur den 147 Rang in den Charts.
It’s hard to believe that a band who once sold out New York’s Shea Stadium faster than The Beatles, and who were also the first US rock band to have 10 platinum discs in a row, have now almost been erased from memory, their music consigned to the deletion bins of heavy metal history.

Several weeks ago, I was looking at the doings of the Rusty Wright Band and noticed that our old friend Dennis Bellinger was not with the band any more.
The album was the first to feature bassist Dennis Bellinger and the first and only to feature keyboardist Lance Duncan Ong. The track "Queen Bee" was featured in the 1981 motion picture soundtrack for the animated film Heavy Metal.
