Christopher John " Ace " Kefford (born 10 December 1946) is an English bassist. The Move. He was the co-founder of The Move in October 1965 with Trevor Burton, after meeting David Bowie at Birmingham's Cedar Club, following a performance by Bowie's band Davy Jones and the Lower Third.

Die Band wurde Ende 1965 gegründet als eine Art Supergroup der Birminghamer Musikszene von Carl Wayne , Chris „Ace“ Kefford und Bev Bevan , alle von Carl Wayne and the Vikings, Roy Wood von Mike Sheridan and the Nightriders (kurz darauf umbenannt in Idle Race), Trevor Burton (Gitarre) von Danny King and the Mayfair Set.
Although bassist-vocalist Chris "Ace" Kefford was the original leader, for most of their career the Move was led by guitarist, singer and songwriter Roy Wood. He wrote all the group's UK singles and, from 1968, also sang lead vocals on many songs, although Carl Wayne was the main lead singer up to 1970.
The Move, co-founded by bassist Christopher “Ace” Kefford were among the seminal British psychedelic-pop progressive rock ensembles of the late 1960s – early 70s.
