The Allen Collins Band was a spinoff of southern-rock bands Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Rossington-Collins Band. It existed from 1983 to 1984 and was formed shortly after the dissolution of the Rossington-Collins Band.
Allen Larkin Collins (* 19. Juli 1952 in Jacksonville, Florida; † 23. Januar 1990) war ein US-amerikanischer Musiker. Er war Mitbegründer, Gitarrist und neben Ronnie Van Zant auch Songwriter der Southern-Rock -Band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Den Flugzeugabsturz von Lynyrd Skynyrd überlebt Allen Collins 1977 nur knapp. Doch das vorläufige Ende seiner Band und der Tod seiner Frau spielen dem Gitarristen und Songschreiber in den Folgejahren übel mit. Nach einem Autounfall gelähmt, stirbt der Gitarrist am 23. Januar 1990 mit nur 37 Jahren.
