This World Upside Down is the American debut album by Italian jazz guitarist Fabrizio Sotti . The album was recorded with Al Foster, John Patitucci, and Randy Brecker. [1] Track listing. John James Patitucci was born in Brooklyn, New York. [1] He began playing the electric bass at age 10, performing and composing at age 12, and at age 15, started playing the acoustic bass, as well as piano by age 16. He listened to bass parts in R&B songs on the radio and on his grandfather's jazz records.

Leben. Patitucci begann im Alter von zehn Jahren, E-Bass zu spielen, mit zwölf Jahren folgten erste Kompositionen, mit fünfzehn Jahren der Kontrabass und ein Jahr später das Klavier. Er studierte klassischen Bass an der San Francisco State University und Long Beach State University und begann 1980 seine Karriere als Studiomusiker in Los Angeles.

This latest album, The Soul of the Bass, originated with me hearing Dave Holland’s 1977 solo record Emerald Tears. His is completely playing the bass alone; it was amazing to me. I got to know him later, and he’s one of my favorite guys. He was influential to a lot of us, and that record was very special.
