Bell Baxter High School. Coordinates: 56.3172°N 3.0293°W. Bell Baxter High School is a non-denominational comprehensive school for 11 to 18 year olds in Cupar, Fife, Scotland. Founded in 1889, it educates over 1,500 pupils mainly from the surrounding villages.
Bell Baxter High School is situated in the heart of Cupar and serves North East Fife. Our cluster includes 18 associated primary schools. In Session 2019/2020 after full consultation will all stakeholders we refreshed our school vision and values. Our Vision is that ‘The Future is in our Hands’.
In 1889 The Madras Academy school and The Baxter Institute for Young Ladies combined to form the Bell-Baxter School. This became Bell Baxter High School in 1955. When the school first opened, there were 110 boys and 101 girls enrolled. 61 boys and 16 girls studied Latin; 7 boys and 16 girls studied German; 36 boys and 2 girls studied maths.
