Dick Cuthell is a British musician and record producer. He plays flugelhorn, cornet, and trumpet, amongst a range of other brass instruments, including tenor horn and valve trombone. Cuthell is best known for his work with The Specials and Rico Rodriguez.
During the next few years Dick was a member of a number of bands, including Rich, Grimes and Babylon and later, Trifle. His work at Island Studios in both Jamaica and London brought him into contact with reggae and ska musicians, and these became a constant theme in the music he played and produced.

Pat King later joined the group Shanghai and eventually Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, whilst Dick Cuthell became a highly respected session musician, working with acts such as Rico Rodriguez, The Specials, John Martyn, The Eurythmics and Elvis Costello.

Juli 2021 · Trumpeter Dick Cuthell became an in-demand sessionist in the years that followed, appearing on albums by Nasty Pop, Burning Spear, Delroy Washington, XTC, The Specials, Chaz Jankel, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Eurythmics, Blancmange, Level 42, Madness, Robert Wyatt, and numerous other artists.
