ABOUT CHEF-OWNER MICHAEL RANSOM. CHEF RANSOM PLATING DESERT AT THE 2019 ‘RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR’ DINNER. Born in the Traverse City area and raised in East Lansing, Chef Ransom first moved to Detroit in 1999. It was then, while living with a sushi chef, that the delicacy of Japanese food kindled his passion for the culinary arts.
The band formed in 2000 with members vocalist Mark Chavez, guitarist Tim Fluckey, guitarist Mike Ransom, bassist Dave DeRoo, and drummer Kris Kohls. After their first two albums, Adema, and Unstable, the band was plagued with years of conflict and lineup changes.
