  1. Louis César de Bourbon, Légitimé de France, Count of Vexin (Génitoy, 20 June 1672 – Paris, 10 January 1683) was a son of Louis XIV of France and his mistress Madame de Montespan. He was the Abbot of Saint-Denis and of Saint-Germain-des-Prés.

  4. Louis de Bourbon (October 1612 – 6 August 1669), was Duke of Mercœur and later the second Duke of Vendôme, and the grandson of Henry IV of France and Gabrielle d'Estrées. He became Duke of Vendôme in 1665, after the death of his father.

  5. Biography. Illegitimate son of Henri IV by his mistress Gabrielle d'Estrees (qq.v.), legitimated in 1595 and made Duke of Vendôme in 1598. When his mother died (1599) he also gained the titles of Duke of Beaufort and Duke of Etampes. Married Françoise de Lorraine, 1608.

  6. After César de Bourbon's death in 1665, he was succeeded as Duke of Vendôme by his first son Louis (1612–1669), while the title of Duke of Beaufort passed to his second son François (1616–1669).
