PAINTINGS OF PARIS. Even by Europe’s standards, Paris is an old city. It dates back to about the 3rd century B.C.E., so it is not surprising that it has become adept at remaking itself. The Paris we see today is, in fact, the product of more than twenty centuries of building and rebuilding.
Copenhagen is a city that is born of the sea. The evidence of this is almost everywhere you look. It is a city that is fiercely proud of its past, from humble beginnings as a small fishing village to the dazzling capital of the Danish Empire, centre of international trade and home to its powerful navy.
