His oldest brother is Graham Lant, former drummer of Prefab Sprout,. He is a direct cousin of the frontman of Enthroned, Nornagest.
Blackman and Mercater were later also replaced by drummer Anthony Bray and vocalist Clive Archer. Later, Hewitt was replaced by Alan Winston on bass. The band name then changed in 1978 to Venom. In late 1979, Conrad Lant replaced Dave Rutherford. Lant later switched to bass after the departure of Winston.
