Spencer Charles Dryden (April 7, 1938 – January 11, 2005) was an American musician best known as the drummer for Jefferson Airplane and New Riders of the Purple Sage. He also played with Dinosaurs, and the Ashes (later known as the Peanut Butter Conspiracy).

Spencer Dryden wuchs in Los Angeles als Sohn des Schauspielers Wheeler Dryden auf, welcher ein Halbbruder des Schauspielers und Regisseurs Charlie Chaplin war.
The drummer of the legendary rock band passed away in 2005 at age sixty-six after a battle with colon cancer. He played on Surrealistic Pillow and other classic albums, and was the nephew of Charlie Chaplin.
