    In commemoration of Mark Twain’s epic hiking expedition around the Riffelberg there is a hiking trail carrying his name running from the Riffelberg to the Riffelalp. 50 minutes of downhill hiking links two of Zermatt’s oldest hotels, the Riffelhaus and Riffelalp 2222m Resort.
