Début 2007, Cédric Soubiron, un des membres fondateurs du groupe, décide de se retirer du monde de la musique – et donc de Manau – pour prendre des cours de comédie. Après avoir ouvert une poissonnerie à Bagnolet , il a ainsi obtenu un brevet de Comédie et d'Art dramatique (mention très bien) au Cours Florent [ 28 ] .

Né au coeur d'un univers de sons, Manau est un groupe de rap parisien, notamment connu par son style inhabituel: un mélange de sonorités hip-hop modernes et de musiques celtiques. Le collectif se forme en 1998 en Bretagne, autour de Cédric Soubiron, de Martial Tricoche et de RV (Hervé) Lardic.

Formation du groupeMartial Tricoche et Cédric Soubiron vivent en banlieue parisienne mais ont un intérêt commun pour la culture celtique, dû à leurs origines bretonnes. Passionnés de hip-hop, ils sont tous deux animateurs sur une radio locale. Au début des années 1990, Cédric part travailler en tant que DJ et programmateur pour Skyrock.
