Mavis Staples (born July 10, 1939) is an American rhythm and blues and gospel singer and civil rights activist. She rose to fame as a member of her family's band The Staple Singers , of which she is the last surviving member.
Mavis Staples (* 10. Juli 1939 in Chicago, Illinois) ist eine US-amerikanische Blues - und Soul sängerin sowie Grammy -Preisträgerin und Bürgerrechtlerin. Bekannt wurde sie ab 1952 als Mitglied der Familienband The Staple Singers um ihren Vater, den Gospelsänger Pops Staples.
