On October 22, Alternative Press reported that guitarist Nate Salameh had left the band. When asked about the decision, Salameh said that he wanted to focus on living a drug and alcohol-free life.

This album is also the last album to feature rhythm guitarist, Nate Salameh, who appeared on their four previous full-length releases and left shortly before the album release and only appeared in the music video of the song "Proving Grounds" but not "Hate Me" and "Rebel".
