Lady Augusta De Ameland (born Murray; 27 January 1761 – 4 March 1830) was a Scottish aristocrat and the first wife of Prince Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex, the sixth son of George III. They married on 4 April 1793 in Rome.

27. Okt. 2022 · Lady Augusta Murray had known Prince Augustus Frederick, later the Duke of Sussex, for only three months but they had fallen deeply in love and were desperate to be married. However, the Royal Marriage Act forbade such a union without the King's permission and Augusta's life was changed forever.
Lady Augusta De Ameland Murray. Daughter of John, 4th Earl of Dunmore; in 1793 married Augustus, Duke of Sussex (q.v.), in contravention of the Royal Marriages Act of 1772; the marriage was annulled by the king the following year but the couple remained together and Augusta gave birth to two children.
From at least 1794, Lady Augusta Murray wrote a book of cures, in this collection, in which she documented treatments and cures for ailments and conditions, with several cures and treatments pertaining to the care of her son and, later, her daughter.
