LOS ANGELES (AP) — Thomas Steinbeck, the eldest son of Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck and a prominent author and screenwriter in his own right, died Thursday at his Santa Barbara home. He was 72.
Thomas Myles Steinbeck was a writer and public speaker. During his lifetime, he wrote numerous screenplays for feature films and documentaries. He published a book of short stories, Down to a Soundless Sea, in 2002. His first novel, In the Shadow of the Cypress, was published in 2010.
