Stjepan Hauser wurde am 15. Juni 1986 in der kroatischen Hafenstadt Pula geboren. Als kleiner Junge hörte er dort zum ersten Mal im Radio ein Cello und war sofort verzaubert. Mit acht Jahren bekam er seinen ersten Cellounterricht, wenig später erkannte man sein außerordentliches Talent.
