Rick Derringer (born Richard Dean Zehringer; August 5, 1947) is an American musician, producer, and songwriter. He achieved success during the 1960s with his then band, the McCoys. Their debut single, "Hang on Sloopy", was a number-one hit in 1965 and became a classic track of the garage rock era.
Zwischen 1993 und 2000 nahm Derringer die vier Blues-Alben Back To the Blues, Electra Blues, Blues Deluxe und Jackhammer Blues auf. 1999 produzierte er mit Edgar Winter das Album Winter Blues.
