The Chimes (later Lenny Cocco & the Chimes) were an American doo wop group from Brooklyn. The Original Chimes from 1960. The group came together under the direction of lead singer Lenny Cocco in the mid-1950s. Their first single was a version of "Once in a While"—a 1937 hit for Tommy Dorsey—released on Tag Records.
Lenny Cocco was the founder and lead vocal of The Chimes, a doo wop group that recorded standards and originals in the 1960s. He died in 2015, but his music and legacy are still celebrated by his bandmates and fans.
