BRIEF SYNOPSIS. God, having created the Angels, leaves Lucifer in charge while he goes to continue his work of creation. Despite warnings from the Angels, Lucifer (encouraged by Lightborne), falls to the temptation of power and attempts to assume God’s mantle.
Then in 1976 came two breakthrough successes: the premieres of the Requiem (also including texts by St John of the Cross) and The Fall of Lucifer, based on a medieval Chester miracle play (both subsequently recorded).
