Johnny Parisio. Richie Incorvaia. Alive 'N Kickin ' is an American pop group formed in Brooklyn, New York. Led by singers Pepe Cardona and Sandy Toder, they are best known for their 1970 hit "Tighter, Tighter", which peaked at number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. [1]
After recording the song, Albano and Shearer were replaced with Ronny Pell and Johnny Parisio. “Tighter, Tighter” was released in May 1970 and remained on the US charts for 16 weeks, selling over one million copies. Two follow-up singles were quickly released, but both failed to make any impact.
John Parisio – Guitar, Vocals John was the lead guitarist for a band called Alive ‘n Kickin' from Brooklyn, NY. The group was the opening act for the likes of Chicago, Seals & Crofts, Eric Burdon (The Animals), the Grass Roots, Sha Na Na and others.
Alive N Kickin’ is still active, although Pepe and Johnny Parisio are the only remaining original members, while the rest of the lineup consists of new members. They still perform for parties, dance events and weddings. Incorvaia had already passed away.
Albano and Shearer were later replaced by drummer Ronny Pell and guitarist Johnny Parisio, respectively. Alive & Kicking began as a session band recording for Tommy James before signing with Roulette Records. In 1970, they released their eponymous debut album.

25. Juli 2023 · The group’s lineup included lead singers Pepe Cardona and Sandy Toder, keyboard player Bruce Sudano, bassist Woody Wilson, guitarist Johnny Parisio, and drummer Ron Pell. Sudano and Wilson worked with James on the Tommy James and The Shondells’ track “Ball of Fire,” which was issued as a single in 1969.
