14. Feb. 2022 · The break with the past did help propel Elastica forward. Two new members were recruited: guitarist Paul Jones replaced Matthews in late 1998 and a few months later Sharon Mew was added for backing vocals and additional keyboards. In August 1999, the band released its first new music in four years.

21. Feb. 2022 · Elastica’s roots dated back to June of 1992 when Frischmann and Welch would join forces with bassist Annie Holland, who allegedly never played the instrument before joining the band. By August of 1992, the band put an ad in the Melody Maker Magazine looking for a second guitarist. They would end up finding guitarist Donna Matthews.
