Robert Allen Palmer (19 January 1949 – 26 September 2003) was an English singer and songwriter. He was known for his powerful, soulful voice and sartorial elegance, and his stylistic explorations, combining soul, funk, jazz, rock, pop, reggae, and blues.
Explorers is a 1985 American science fantasy film written by Eric Luke and directed by Joe Dante. The film stars Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix, both in their film debuts, and Jason Presson as young teenage boys who build a spacecraft to explore outer space.
Robert spent his career using these wide-ranging genres to express himself, and he did so for almost 40 years. Born Robert Allen Palmer in Batley in Yorkshire, England, on January 19th, 1949, he grew up in Malta on an army base where his father, a naval intelligence officer, was stationed.
