SOUNDTRACK · 2009. Preview. Composer Marvin Hamlisch is probably best known for the music he wrote in the ‘70s for two films, The Sting and The Way We Were, and the Broadway musical A Chorus Line. In 2009, he scored The Informant!, a movie that humorously tells the tale of a corporate whistleblower with his own share of personal flaws.

Aug. 2009 · The Informant! soundtrack was the last movie score that the late Oscar, Tony and Grammy Award Winning Marvin Hamlisch would compose at the personal request of Soderbergh who was a big fan of Hamlisch and had revisited Woody Allen's Bananas, which Hamlisch had scored as the inspiration for this score and film.
The Informant!: (Marvin Hamlisch) While immersed in his Ocean's Eleven franchise in the early 2000's, director Steven Soderbergh sought to adapt journalist Kurt Eichenwald's book about the whistle-blower behind the exposure of a large agricultural company's conspiracy to fix the price of lysine in the 1990's.
