Wildwood School is an independent progressive K–12 school located in Los Angeles. Wildwood was founded as an elementary school in 1971, by a group of parents led by a young lawyer named Belle Mason. The secondary campus (middle and high school) opened in 2000.
Wildwood Nature School is a not-for-profit independent, nature-based primary school for children aged 4-11 years in North London. We offer an alternative to mainstream education with a strong focus on children’s well-being and spending time in nature following the Forest School principles.
The History of Wildwood School. Bob Lewis founded the Wildwood School in 1974. The building was designed as a couple of earth-covered domes which mimic nature, while the program emphasizes learning through sensory experiences with the environment.
Mission Statement. Wildwood School cultivates reflective scholars, bold innovators and compassionate leaders equipped with the skills, ethics and inspiration to transform their world.
