Sapir College (Hebrew: המכללה האקדמית ספיר, HaMikhlela HaAkademit Sapir) is a college in Israel, located in the northwestern Negev desert near Sderot. It is the largest public college in Israel, with an enrollment of 8,000 students. The college is named after Israeli politician Pinchas Sapir.
1. Nov. 2023 · Sapir Academic College, the only academic institution in the area adjacent to the Gaza border, was shuttered indefinitely and the surrounding communities were evacuated after the October 7 massacres. The college president envisions Sapir as a key player in the revitalization of the area, but faces challenges with staff, students and funding.
