Shona Laing (born 9 October 1955) is a New Zealand musician. Laing had several folk hits in her native country and in the 80's became internationally popular for her alternative music, most notably "(Glad I'm) Not a Kennedy" and "Soviet Snow" which was based on the Chernobyl disaster.

First appearing on our TV screens as a 17-year-old hippy girl singing her unforgettable ‘1905’, Shona Laing was runner-up in the New Faces talent quest in 1972, after which she was promptly signed to the Phonogram label.
