Elverum sings about the wind, as the wind and with the wind in a captivating execution of his vision. The record ties neatly into a body of work that’s beginning to look like that of a songwriter attempting to turn himself inside out.
Wind’s Poem, Elverum’s third official album as Mount Eerie, has the naked rock/metal signposts (in other words, it betrays a rare outside influence) that a lot of Mount Eerie compositions have lacked; whether this is a positive or negative trend is in the eyes of the beholder, but to me these new elements constitute a whole new appeal for E-rum.
