[1] He was a member of the pioneering 1970s no wave group DNA, which featured on the 1978 compilation No New York. In the 1980s, he formed the group Ambitious Lovers.
Neben Marc Ribot spielte Lindsay als zweiter Gitarrist John Luries Soundtrack zu Jim Jarmuschs Down by Law ein, in dem Lurie an der Seite von Tom Waits und Roberto Benigni selbst mitspielte. Lindsay selbst tauchte auch in mehreren Kurz- und Spielfilmen seit Ende der 1970er Jahre auf, am bekanntesten wohl in Susan Seidelmans Susan… verzweifelt gesucht von 1985 (in dem auch Lurie erscheint).
