The Kill Count is the main show of Dead Meat, mostly hosted by James A. Janisse.

The main series of Dead Meat is The Kill Count. A weekly episode of a horror movie (sometimes even a TV Show, Video Games, Music Videos, Musicals, or Comics) and counting all the kills, normally released on Friday and sometimes Sunday.

The Kill Count is a venture into the world of horror to discover the lives taken throughout centuries of horror films with information about production. and a whole lotta jokes. It all started when James made a website similar to the show now, where he counts all the kills from a movie.

On December of 2021, James stated that he would that a break from hosting Kill Counts until June of 2022. Because of that, he let Zoran do Kill Counts for the Tremors series every other Friday. After the last Tremors movie, his wife, Chelsea would do the American Psycho duology and Zoran would come back to do Slither and Deathgasm Kill Count. On October 7, 2023 Zoran would host the Dude Bro Party Massacre III Kill Count, which took the Kill Count champion spot for most kills from Zombieland: Double Tap (356 Kills) with a record shattering 4295 Kills. On April 2023, James said that he would take a break again, with Zoran hosting Kill Counts again, with Deep Rising, The Collector duology, and the Critters franchise. Molly would have a small part as the host for Critters 4. On June 18, 2023 Chelsea would come back to hosting the Kill Count with Bones and All. Zoran would also host another Kill Count October 13 2023 with Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Chelsea would come back to host the Kill Count on October 20 2023 for Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc.

Without a doubt, the main reason people watch his channel is for the Kill Count series. A weekly series where James, Zoran, Chelsea, and Molly will take a horror media and count the kills in it. At the start of the video they will talk about the films impact (director and behind-the-scenes, how much the film means to them, etc.) and then they play clips from the movies while they recap them. Whenever someone dies they will keep track of it and at the end they will typically do a funny gag to "Get to the Numbers". In the numbers they will tally up a number of how many people perished, then put them in a pie chart by gender as well as a kill-on-average figure, found by dividing the film's length by its total kills and multiplying that number by 60. After the pie chart and kill-on-average figure, they award 2 medals, one is the Golden Chainsaw which goes to their favorite kill in the movie, followed by the Dull Machete for their least favorite kill. Some series will have bonus awards such as Saw, Jurassic Park, Final Destination, Tremors, Fear Street, Chucky (Recounts), Gremlins duology, and the Critters franchise.
