Smoking in the Fields is an album by the American rock band the Del Fuegos, released in 1989. It was the band's final studio album. The album peaked at No. 139 on the Billboard 200. Its first single was "Move with Me Sister". The Del Fuegos supported the album by touring with James McMurtry.
The Del Fuegos were heavily influenced by The Band, and they invited Rick Danko to sing harmony on the track "Stand by You" on Smoking in the Fields. Here's a review of the album, copied from the Trouser Press Record Guide :

Richard Clare Danko (December 29, 1943 – December 10, 1999) [1] was a Canadian musician, bassist, songwriter, and singer, best known as a founding member of the Band, for which he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. During the 1960s, Danko performed as a member of the Hawks, backing Ronnie Hawkins and then Bob Dylan.
Smoking in the Fields was recorded in Woodstock, New York before it was released in 1989. After this, Dan Zanes felt it was time to put an end to The Del Fuegos and move on to what would become bigger and better things for the man.
