By 1979, White had been replaced by vocalist Henri Valentine and keyboard player John St. John. Nigel Benjamin, an English vocalist who had sung for glam rock band Mott (formerly Mott the Hoople) and English Assassin, joined the band after Valentine left.

Nigel Benjamin was a virtually unknown vocalist in a band called Royce. Mick Ralphs had seen them at the Marquee and suggested to the others to give Nigel a call. His bass player went along for support and Nigel took a couple of weeks to decide to join.

An English musician originally from Southend-on-Sea. He formed a band Fancy in the early 70s, which released one single 'Star Lord' on Sticky Records (3). Benjamin joined Mott (3) in 1975 and played with Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crue in the band London. Benjamin died in 2019, aged 64.
