The Lemon Pipers comprised drummer William (Bill) E. Albaugh (1946–1999), guitarist Bill Bartlett (born 1946), vocalist Dale "Ivan" Browne (born 1947), keyboardist Robert G. Nave (1944–2020), and bassist Steve Walmsley (born 1948), who replaced the original bass guitarist Bob "Dude" Dudek.

Starstruck originally included Steve Walmsley (bass) and Bob Nave (organ) from the Lemon Pipers. Walmsley left the band and was replaced by David Goldflies (who later played for years with Dickey Betts and Great Southern, and the Allman Brothers ).
The Lemon Pipers were an American psychedelic rock band formed in Ohio in 1966. The original lineup consisted of Ivan Browne on vocals, Bill Bartlett on guitar, Steve Walmsley on bass, Bob Nave on keyboards, and Bill Albaugh on drums.
Dudek was later replaced by new bassist Steve Walmsley. Then they hooked up with manager Mark Barger, who helped the band secure a recording contract with Buddah Records which was then run by the late industry veteran Neil Bogart.
