Like the title suggests, this album is part blue and part soul, leaning to the soul side of the spectrum more often. This is so good because Mitchell is surrounded by energy players: Jimmy Heath, Wynton Kelly, Sam Jones, Philly Joe Jones and Curtis Fuller. Philly Joe Jones in particular is electric. Published.
