Ibeyi is a French musical duo consisting of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé Diaz and Naomi Diaz. The duo sings in English, French, Spanish and Yoruba, In Yoruba, Ibeyi (Ìbejì) means "twins".
Lisa-Kaindé und Naomi Díaz sind Töchter des kubanischen Perkussionisten Miguel „Angá“ Díaz, der Mitglied im Buena Vista Social Club war. Nach seinem Tod im Jahr 2006 begannen die Zwillinge im Alter von 11 Jahren das von Angá gespielte Cajón und die Volkslieder der Yoruba zu erlernen.
The twin sisters of the French-Cuban electronic-soul duo Ibeyi, Naomi and Lisa-Kaindé Díaz, were born in Paris but lived in Havana for the first two years of their lives before moving back to Paris. Their father was the famed Cuban percussionist Anga Díaz, a member of the Buena Vista Social Club.
